Why is web design important to me and my career?
The Internet was invented for information sharing, and there is a vital need to send and receive information in the world around us. A purely selfish and personal way I could foresee myself using the web is to promote and market myself and my skills. The are thousands of sites designed around that one concept, connecting artists to clients/customers and artists with other artists. The need to be connected is really why there is any website. If i were to create a site it would be used to serve me in my pursuit of whatever.

Until recently, I have to say I never really thought of the web this way. A year or two ago, friends talked me into a MySpace page (I really hate using it) but have found the joys of Facebook. But, how does one go about finding these on-line communities of people of common interest? SecondLife? too expensive.
How would you find communities of others to which you might belong? I agree that creating a site about yourself if a ‘virtual’ necessity, if you will and it certainly is a neccessity if you have a service you are selling. But, what and how I guess we’ll find out…
Thanks for thinking beyond the box…

I do agree that websites are useful for connections, promotions, and linking each other to one another.
It’s a really useful tool, that shares information to a vast audience faster than in reality.
